Mineral waters.

Water is the basic element for life and the human body is made up for the most part of this element, mostly in children and lower in adults. It performs a very important function by regulating biological and digestive processes by favoring the action of enzymes and intestinal juices.
Mineral waters are defined as such when the salt content is greater than the fixed residue expected for drinking water.

They are divided into :
Oligominerals, when heated they leave a residue of less than 0.2 grams per liter of salts, which is quickly absorbed and eliminated in a short time. They are particularly suitable for dissolving organic and inorganic waste and transporting it out of the body with uric acids and nitrogen. Very favorable for kidney functions. Highly recommended for patients with gout, skin inflammation and urinary stones.
Medium minerals, when the fixed residue does not exceed 1 gram per liter, have an intermediate action between trace minerals and minerals. They are divided into bicarbonate, ferrous, sulphurous, sulfate, arsenical-ferrous medium-minerals.
Mineral waters, depending on their salt content. They are also divided into bicarbonate minerals, sauces minerals (chlorinated-sodium), sulphurous minerals, sulphate minerals and arsenical-ferrous minerals. They have less important actions than medium-mineral and trace minerals and are sometimes indicated to replace drinking water from the tap with a strong chlorine flavor.
Italy is a peninsula rich in medicinal (thermal) mineral waters for the body that needs lubricating washing and mineral salts. Italians are major consumers of mineral waters. We also consume a lot of tonic water, water with added sugar, citric acid, natural flavors (quinine) and carbon dioxide. In this regard, I can say that it was probably the British during their wars in India (around the mid-1800s) who invented this drink. It was necessary for the soldiers to resist malaria and quinine (cinchona extract) was an excellent antidote taken with plenty of water. Probably the soldiers in war did not go too far in differentiating water from gin (served to the military as a corroborant) and, according to my reasoning, it was in those periods that gin & tonic began to spread. Years ago, on the label of the Schweppes tonic, you could see the words Indian tonic water.
Returning to water and its types, soda is also consumed (water strongly added with carbon dioxide and salts) and ginger ale (water with the addition of natural flavors, ginger extracts, carbon dioxide and citric acid). On the same line there are also many other drinks on the market for which only the flavoring ingredient changes.
